SHAAN SHAHID

Shaan Shahid is among the most well-known actors in the film industry in Pakistan. Shaan is an actor as well as a producer and director. Being an artist he’s contributed significantly to the field of film. He has made over 500 films.

He is certainly one of the most famous stars that the Pakistani cinema industry has ever seen.

Education and early life

Shaan Sheikh was born on April 27, 1971, in Lahore to the director of the film, Riaz Shahid. His mother Neelo was an actor, and film and TV actress. His father was a Muslim and his mother was a Punjabi Christian. She later converted to Islam. Fiaz Shahid was his paternal uncle. was a cameraman and producer on PTV in Islamabad.

Shaan’s education began at the renowned Aitchison College. Shaan’s first venture into acting Shaan was at a boy scout bonfire. Shaan Shahid was awarded the prize for the most outstanding actor in a play titled Alif Noon as the role of a comedian. But, Shaan never took acting seriously as a profession. After Aitchison, Shaan left for New York, USA. He enrolled at Newtown High School. Shaan always wanted to be an attorney. But the plans changed for him and he returned to Pakistan to spend time with his family and joined the family company, Riaz Shahid Films. At the age of 19, Shaan did his first film Bulandi. It came out in the year 1990.

This actor has a wife named Amina Shaan. There are four girls: Bahisht-iBareen Shaan Shahid Fatima Shahid Shah Bano Shahid along with Raanay Shahid.

The Showbiz Career

As Actor

In his role as an actor, Shaan Shahid debuted in the movie Bulandi in 1990. Shaan made his debut alongside the actress who was debuting Reema Khan. Since Shaan’s debut in the film, Shaan was in numerous Urdu and Punjabi films in Punjabi and Urdu. 2013 was the year that Shaan made his debut. Shaan played the lead role in the most popular film in the world “Waar”. The film was written by Bilal Lashari. The film featured Shamoon Abbasi Aisha Khan Uzma Khan Ali Azmat as well as Meesha Shafi as the lead roles. Shaan was praised for his part in Waar. Shaan was awarded his Best Actor award at the 1st ARY Film Awards.

Following the success of Waar the actor starred as a guest actor in his film O21. The co-stars of his film were Iman Ali, Aamina Sheikh, Ayub Khoso, and Shamoon Abbasi. In 2015, Shaan starred in Yalghaar alongside Adnan Siddiqui. The film was directed by and made by Hassan Waqas Rana. The film was the largest and most expensive in the development of Pakistani cinema. It was financed with a total of 50 crore rupees. Shaan was also in a dance-based movie called Naach (2013). The film featured Momal Sheikh Javed Sheikh as well as Neil Uchong as lead characters.

Film direction

Shaan was eager to create an impact on the filmmaking process in Pakistan. This is why Shaan began his career as a director. Shaan produced his creative film under the title of Guns and Roses – Ik Junoon. The film premiered in 1999. The film was made by Tanvir Fatima Rehman. Shaan also co-starred along with Meera, Faisal Rehman, and Resham in key roles. The soundtrack was composed by M. Arshad. The cinematography of the film was created and composed by Azhar Burki. The script is composed by Pervaiz Kaleem.

In 2000, Shaan has also directed Mujhe Chand Chahiye. The film featured Shaan, Noor, Javed Sheikh, Reema Khan, Moammar Rana, and Atiqa Odho in the lead roles. In 2001, Shaan then directed Moosa Khan. The film featured Abid Ali Saima, Noor, and Jan Rambo in important roles. In 2009. Shaan was on TV’s TV show “Happenings”. The show was telecast in 2009 on ARY Digital.

TV career

Shaan was also a brief time on TV. He was a part of Geo TV and hosted a morning show under the name”Geo Shaan Say” Geo Shaan on Geo News. But, Shaan soon left the show due to his desire to concentrate on the development of his own film Waar.

As an ambassador for the brand

Shaan is also an ambassador for brands. Shaan has been the subject of attention for a variety of major brand names and advertising campaigns. Since 2009 Unilever Pakistan also started its own brand of soap, LUX limited edition soap. It was introduced at the Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel in Lahore, Pakistan. Shaan also signed a deal with a company called Pepsi. For Pepsi Shaan and Ali Zafar helped to improve the brand’s image in Pakistan. Shaan was also the spokesperson for Mobilink’s “Indigo company in 2004. Indigo was marketed as a brand with a huge appeal to wealthy families and top executives.

Shaan also served as a Goodwill ambassador for ‘One Pack = One Vaccine’. This was a promotional campaign that was initiated through UNICEF, Procter & Gamble as well as the Ministry of Health with the goal of eliminating tetanus in Pakistan. Shaan has also devoted himself to this cause. Shaan has visited a variety of areas and cities across Pakistan. This includes shopping malls and stores within Karachi as well as Lahore. In 2016, Shaan joined the PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars. Shaan became the brand ambassador for the franchise during its second season.

Controversy

Ertugrul is the most watched and discussed program in Pakistan. For a time, Pakistani celebrities had been disapproving of the television broadcasts of Turkish dramas in Pakistan and our industry continues to struggle. Shaan Shahid was among the few who initiated this discussion.

The director was of the belief that Turkish films shouldn’t be promoted in Pakistan and the investment should be focused on Pakistani cinema.

But, afterward, Shaan changed his opinion and declared the show a “classic masterpiece’. Additionally, he expressed special thanks to the directors, producers, and actors who were part of the program.

In addition, Shaan was so enthralled by the show that Shaan even thanked the techs who were involved in Ertugrul. Since then, fans have been commenting on the way Shaan’s software was upgraded’. Then he realized the reason everyone loved Ertugrul so much.
